How to enjoy

Heat a teaspoon of ghee in a pan, add the makhana and roast on low flame for 5 to 7 minutes until they turn crisp. Sprinkle a pinch of salt, black pepper or chaat masala and enjoy with your evening chai. You can also add them to kheer, cook them into makhana curry, or toss them with roasted nuts for a crunchy snack mix.

Storage

Makhana soak up moisture from the air and can turn soft. Keep the pouch tightly sealed in a cool, dry place. If they lose their crunch, roast them in a dry pan for a few minutes and they will be crisp again.
